The Team Leader will directly supervise and manage a team of Care Workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care for our residents/clients. This role is crucial in coordinating daily care activities, maintaining clinical compliance, developing individual care plans, and providing on-the-floor leadership and mentorship to the care staff.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Oversee daily staffing and scheduling of Care Workers to ensure continuous and adequate coverage.
Mentor and provide immediate guidance to team members, ensuring all care is delivered efficiently and compassionately.
Act as the first point of escalation for care staff regarding resident/client needs or concerns.
Care Planning & Documentation:
Develop, review, and update individualized care plans collaboratively with residents/clients, their families, and clinical staff.
Ensure all care documentation (daily notes, incident reports, etc.) is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Utilize basic Excel skills to track key service metrics, compile staff reports, and manage simple inventory logs.
Clinical Support & Training:
Ensure all team members adhere to established medication administration protocols and procedures, providing guidance as needed.
Conduct on-the-job training and competency assessments for new and existing Care Workers, particularly around specialized care needs.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards, including safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience working as a Care Worker or Senior Support Worker in a residential, domiciliary, or community care environment.
Minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity is highly desirable.
Skills & Training:
Current and demonstrable Medication Administration Training/Certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
Demonstrated ability to independently create, implement, and evaluate Care Plans.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant documentation E-MAR systems.
