Team Leader/Mentor
to join our growing team and play a key role in mentoring staff and delivering care.
Job Overview
As a Team Leader/Mentor, you'll support service users with day-to-day care needs while also helping to lead, coach, and develop a team of care staff. This role is ideal for someone who has experience in care and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Care Duties:
Provide personal care and daily living support
Prepare meals and assist with eating where required
Carry out light domestic tasks (laundry, cleaning, shopping)
Monitor health and well-being (mood, weight, and overall changes)
Support with medication administration or prompting
Encourage independence through social activities and community engagement
Team Leader Duties:
Conduct staff observations and competency checks
Mentor and provide on-the-job training to care staff
Attend and contribute to management meetings
Take part in the shared on-call rota
Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures
Communicate effectively with colleagues and management
Adapt to changing priorities in a busy care environment
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Previous experience in a care/support worker role
Compassionate, patient, and reliable
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work under pressure and remain calm
Confident using a smartphone or tablet.
Ability to travel between service users in the community
Desirable:
Experience mentoring or supervising staff
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or willing to work towards this.
