Key responsibilities
1. Assist the leadership team in implementing the philosophies and policies of the .
2. Conduct supervision with support worker staff, ensuring monthly supervisions and annual appraisals overseen by the care manager.
3. Assist the leadership team in ensuring that each young person's needs are met through effective assessment and care planning, contributing to reviews as required.
4. Support and participate in young people's social, lifelong learning plans and recreational activities, including outings and holidays.
5. Act as a key worker for specified young people, ensuring their medical needs are met and supporting them in advocating for themselves.
6. Facilitate and support young people in decision-making, promoting choice and involvement.
7. Ensure staff demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the rights of young people with emotional and behavioural challenges.
8. Consistently apply and contribute to the review and development of behaviour management strategies.
9. Encourage young people to maintain personal and environmental hygiene.
10. Maintain accurate records and ensure effective communication with staff members.
11. Once trained, administer medication in line with company policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate handling of medical emergencies.
12. Ensure that young people's personal property and clothing are maintained to a high standard, reporting any additional needs to the leadership team.
13. Promote good practice within the team in accordance with Ellie Bee House's standard operating procedures and company policies.
14. Maintain integrity in all dealings with young people's personal and financial affairs.
Communication:
15. Conduct thorough handovers at the beginning of each shift.
16. Participate in staff and young people's meetings as required, maintaining appropriate records.
Training and Development:

18. Attend all required training sessions on or off-site.
19. Commit to monthly formal supervision and contribute to agenda discussions.
Health & Safety:
20. Immediately report any illness, accidents, or infections involving young people, colleagues, or oneself.
21. Ensure compliance with Park HomeCare's Health & Safety policy, emergency procedures, and fire safety protocols.
22. Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, or potential hazards to the Deputy/Registered Managers and Maintenance team.
23. Promote a culture of safe working practices within Ellie Bee House.
General:
24. Support the Manager on duty in maintaining petty cash records in line with company policies.
25. Keep accurate daily records when on shift.
26. Welcome visitors and provide necessary assistance.
27. Uphold and promote the good reputation of Park HomeCare, adhering to all policies and procedures.
28. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with company policies and data protection regulations.
29. Ensure the security of company property, including vehicles, at all times.
30. Maintain a clean and well-kept living environment for children throughout shifts.
31. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as assigned
Skills required
Proven ability to work on own initiative.
Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to individuals with emotional and challenging behaviours, as well as learning difficulties.
A commitment to providing a service that supports vulnerable individuals while respecting their wishes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people, colleagues, family members, and other professionals.
Commitment to training and self-development.
A valid driving licence, willingness to use own car as required, and ability to use a company vehicle where applicable.
Willingness to work shifts, including sleep-in duties.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Due to regulations, candidates must be aged 21 or over.

Qualifications required
Hold a Level 4 qualification or be working towards a Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification. Working towards a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Children & Young People
Hold a valid driving licence and willingness to use your own car or a company vehicle.
