We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals, particularly children, ensuring their well-being and fostering their development. This position requires effective communication skills, the ability to drive, and a strong understanding of care plans. Experience working with children and young people within social care and/or residential children's home is essential to be considered for this rewarding role.
60.00 sleep in enhancement per shift extra to baseline salary. Typically 10 sleep ins on average per month depending on needs of the service.
Responsibilities
Provide direct support to children in various settings, including educational and recreational environments.
Support the ethos of the home and management team to create a safe, secure and enriching home life
Supervision of care staff as and when directed
Leading of the shift as per the rota
Oversee safeguarding matters in the absence of management out of hours if required
Provide stimulating enrichment activities for the children we care for
Create a culture of openness and reflective practice within the team
Complete all compliance and regulatory records when you are shift leading
Be a positive mentor and role model to not only the children but staff team
Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Foster a safe and nurturing atmosphere that promotes the emotional and physical well-being of the children.
Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and any incidents that occur during support sessions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided.
Engage in activities that promote learning and development through play and structured tasks.
Qualifications
Previous experience in childcare or a similar role is essential
Essential Level 3 Diploma within children and young people residential care
Strong IT skills for maintaining records and communicating effectively with team members.
Excellent communication skills to engage with children and their families effectively.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes when required.
Understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
A compassionate approach with a genuine interest in supporting children's growth and development.
