We are seeking a
compassionate, resilient and experienced Team Leader
to join our small but impactful residential children's home in
Herefordshire
. This two-bedded home provides a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children with emotional and behavioural needs, helping them thrive and reach their potential.
About the Role
As
Team Leader
, you will play a crucial role in leading a small team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring the home operates to the highest standards of care and compliance. You will support the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations and will often act as the lead professional on shift, ensuring young people's individual care plans are followed with empathy and consistency.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing leadership, supervision, and support to care staff on shift
Acting as a positive role model for young people and the team
Contributing to care planning and the development of the home
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Supporting with rota planning and household management
Building trusting relationships with the young people, promoting emotional wellbeing, education and personal development
Assisting the Registered Manager with audits, reports, and staff development
What We're Looking For
NVQ Level 3 (Children & Young People / Residential Childcare) - essential
Experience working in a children's residential setting -
minimum 2 years
Supervisory or senior support worker experience preferred
Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support strategies
Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and sleep-in shifts
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
A commitment to the rights and welfare of young people
