We're looking for compassionate, resilient, and motivated Team Leaders to support children and young people with complex mental health needs in residential homes across the West Midlands.

The Role
As Team Leader, you will guide and supervise a team of support workers during your shift, ensuring safe, effective, and child-focused care is delivered at all times. You will lead by example, manage daily rotas, coordinate shift planning, and act as a key point of contact for staff and external professionals.
You'll play a critical role in maintaining high standards of care, promoting independence, safeguarding welfare, and creating a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support staff on shift, ensuring quality care delivery
Provide supervision and mentorship to team members
Manage daily rotas and shift planning
Support the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of children and young people
Administer medication in line with individual health plans
Oversee accurate documentation, handovers, and financial records
Support children in education, health appointments, and personal development
Promote safeguarding, equality, and children's rights
Liaise with families and professionals, attending reviews and meetings
Contribute to team development and service improvement
What You'll Need
At least 2 years' experience working in residential care with children and young people who present complex needs and behaviours
Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care - Children and Young People (or equivalent)
Experience in shift leadership and staff supervision
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
A child-centred, trauma-informed approach
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins
A full UK driving licence (preferred)
