What is the job role?
We have a fabulous and rare opportunity to join our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team in Coventry as a Team Leader based at Longford Health Centre.
Coventry is a growing, culturally and ethnically diverse city. Our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team is a specialist multi-disciplinary team focusing on the needs of people living with the effects of Memory impairment and chronic and enduring mental disorders. The Team provides specialist assessments and interventions embracing the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding investigations and protection of human rights and civil liberties.
We work to a model embracing self-directed care, utilising strengths-based approaches, co-production and promoting independence. The team is multi-disciplinary, incorporating Community Mental Health Nurses, Approved Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Support Workers and clerical staff.
The service is for predominantly for older adults with a memory impairment or chronic and enduring mental disorders, Your main duties will include the line management and professional governance of the Social Workers within the team, contributing to the AMHP Duty Rota as an AMHP and providing senior cover when required, scrutinising applications for community care funding under The Care Act, chairing Best Interest Assessment meetings and helping oversee Safeguarding enquiries/investigations.
