Marlin Industries is an equal opportunities employer and has an exciting opportunity for a Team leader to join the team at our Llay site working in our production area. Joining us on a full time, permanent basis, you will be required to work day and night shifts, as follows:

Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 6am-12:30pm

Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 7pm-6am

The Team Leader has an important part to play, not only in the smooth running of the production area, but the site as a whole. The Team Leader forms part of a close knit team of people in the supervisory structure. A key requirement is for personnel to work closely to achieve earnings, health & safety, quality & environmental company goals.

This must happen within a shift and across shifts. The supervisory structure must ensure a tight control is retained over the site. Failure to do so will lead to the organisation's objectives being compromised and personnel working without clear direction.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities



Assisting in the production planning



Available personnel Stock checking materials Ensuring customer deadlines are met

Implementation of production plan & recording of output



Conduct start up meeting to allocate personnel to the different aspects of the production process. Ensuring machines are being operated by operators start time. Ensuring sufficient materials are available at the point of processing Ensuring quality of product meets customer requirements Use of the SAP business system to receipt shift production quantities Daily analyzing of operatives production totals and highlighting any issues to individuals when required Generate and complete shift production reports & shift handover Ensure the team satisfy identified/planned production requirements Address and compliment the resolution of issues preventing or inhibiting shift production requirements

Providing assessment of training needs & delivery to personnel in the area



Ensuring personnel are trained in accordance with the written training plan Ensuring training is delivered, recorded & monitored Assess progress of candidates to nationally recognised standards To conduct regular PDP of team members against job description, goals and objectivates that are set. Conduct daily quality checks of work completed Receive holiday requests and sanction leave, based on minimum numbers of personnel required to operate the shift in a safe & efficient manner

To ensure a safe working environment is maintained



Reporting of mechanical/electrical faults Enforcing the use of PPE as required by the production process Regular tidying of the storage areas Materials stored in correct location Control of the shift tool locker to ensure personnel have the correct tools to perform what is required of them in a safe manner. This will include daily checks of the shift tool boxes / shadow boards before shift ends. To promote a "continuous improvement" culture by demonstrating leadership in compliance & motivating individuals to be innovative, achieve high standards and follow procedures. Conduct monthly departmental audits through safety nest and ensuring any actions raised are completed in a timely manner. Ensuring all daily checklists are completed by the appropriate personnel Ensuring any accident, near miss & dangerous occurrences are reported and logged onto safety nest. Ensuring all risk assessments are up to date and creating new risk assessments when required

Other Duties



Daily completion of the shift labour log Utilise SAP, employee portal, WorkNest & SafetyNest efficiently Conduct team members disciplinary's for any verbal & written warning that need to be issued. Ensure breaktimes are followed and do not exceed allotted hours/minutes Ensure clean up time is effective but kept to a minimum

Skills / Competencies

Confidence to instruct, motivate and educate team members in relation to achieving organisational goals. Effective communication skills, in particular the ability to provide constructive and positive feedback to members of the team as well as negotiating with senior leadership to ensure the team has the necessary resources (time, people, and equipment) needed to achieve goals. Good computer skills, in particular in the use of SAP Problem solving

Qualifications



previous experience in Management/Team leading role is required FLT Licence preferred but not essential for the right candidate

Pay: 14.09-16.93 per hour
