dynamic and committed Adult Mental Health Team Leader

As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in the running of the home, supporting the Manager in delivering high standards of care, leading the residential team, and ensuring compliance with the Care Standards Act 2000 and all relevant regulatory requirements.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of staff, performance management, rota coordination, ensuring residents' care needs are met, liaising with multidisciplinary teams, and fostering a positive, caring and professional environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, supervise and support the Residential Care Team within the home
Communicate organisational values, care objectives and regulatory standards to the team
Maintain a caring, proactive environment that meets the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, cultural and spiritual needs of each resident
Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members involved in food preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to in line with regulatory requirements.
Manage day-to-day operations, staff rotas and allocation of duties.
Oversee residents' medical and health care needs, coordinating with health professionals
Ensure accurate documentation, keyworker files, care plans and progress reports
Promote dignity, respect and person-centred care at all times
Participate in management on-call rota ensuring 24-hour cover
Deal with performance issues, resolve conflicts, and foster open communication within the team
Support induction, mentoring, training and development of Residential Support Workers
Coordinate activities, outings and recreational programmes for residents
Maintain positive relationships with families, external agencies, commissioners and MDT partners
Ensure the environment, equipment and materials are safe, well-maintained and compliant
Promote safeguarding, Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities within the home
Attend management meetings and contribute to service development
Undertake duties delegated by the Manager in accordance with your role

You will be someone who:

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care, Mental Health, Nursing, (social Work)
At least
3 years' experience
in a care or mental health setting
Experience of supervising staff
Knowledge of Health & Safety, Care Standards Act 2000, Equality & Diversity legislation
Experience working with learning disabilities, mental health needs or challenging behaviour
Desirable
Experience in more than one care setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to complete rotas and manage staff cover
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
