Job Description

Hours: 40 per week (24 hours direct care, 16 hours office-based)


We are looking for a passionate and experienced Team Leader to join our growing team in Harrogate. This is a blended role combining hands-on support with operational leadership. You'll lead a team of dedicated Personal Assistants (PAs) in delivering high-quality, person-centred care for an individual with autism and a learning disability in their own home.

Key Responsibilities


Deliver person-centred care with respect, dignity, and compassion.
Support daily routines, community activities, and holidays.
Follow and contribute to care plans and risk assessments.
Maintain accurate records and effective communication.
Supervise, mentor, and appraise a team of PAs.
Deliver feedback and guide professional development.
Lead by example in care delivery and team culture.
Manage rotas, absence, holidays, and team wellbeing.
Ensure team compliance with training and policy requirements.
Ensure care plans and risk assessments are current and effective.
Attend reviews and liaise with families and professionals.
Uphold all CQC and Brightening Lives standards.
Contribute to policies and procedures.
Oversee health and safety, medicines management, and infection control.
Confidently use electronic systems for records and scheduling.
Take part in a shared on-call rota for 24/7 service continuity.


About You


Experience supporting people with autism and/or learning disabilities.
A natural ability to lead, coach, and support a small team.
Calm, confident communication skills and emotional resilience.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings/weekends.
Confidence with digital systems and report writing.


Essential Requirements


A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Availability for flexible working, including alternate weekends and on-call.
Prior experience in a care/support role, ideally with autism or learning disabilities.
A commitment to person-centred care and inclusive practice.
