Responsible to the Deputy Homes Manager for the effective delivery of Care to meet the needs of the child living at Jasmine House (Solo Provision). Whilst remaining compliant when working with the Services Policies and Procedures. Jasmine House , can accommodate up to and including 1 Looked After Child who have emotional, social and/or behavioural difficulties, LD/SEMH. The Home is a lovely size and is located in a peaceful location to offer the child the opportunity to grow, develop and make progress in a Home that we are very proud of. We value all the adults who are on this journey with us to provide support the shape the future and lives of others. The Home will be registered with Ofsted as we believe in providing and evidencing a high standard of Care. We want all the adults working within the Home to demonstrate positivity, signpost, support and seek resolution for the children. Many children who are Looked After have experienced some form of Trauma within their childhood, therefore working alongside the Trauma Recovery Model will underpin our working practice.
You will work on a rota pattern of 2 days on and 4 days off, you will be expected to sleep-in and will be paid 65 for the sleep-in. The Home is open 365 days per year therefore you are expected to work weekends, bank holidays and during key holidays such as Easter and Christmas.
The successful candidate will have experience of working within a Children's Home, they will oversee and co-ordinate a team of Residential Support Workers to implement and the Care Planning needs of the children within our Care. You will be empowered and supported to use your knowledge and skills to make decisions, monitor and reviewing as appropriate, whilst working together within a Team of adults and collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to drive each Child's individual Care Plan and Placement Plan within the Home. At this level you will be responsible for updating and developing polices and procedures. You will be guided and supported by the Deputy Team Manager. You will have knowledge and understanding of our regulating body Ofsted and understand the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Care Standards and SCCIF.
You will be responsible for working alongside policies and procedures to support and empower a team to meet the individual needs of our children. You will take responsibility for decision making and risk assessing individual and a range of differing needs.
You will provide support in relation to the recruitment, monitoring and appraisal of staff, you will also undertake a formal monthly supervision of the Residential Support Workers, to provide support, advice and guidance. You will take responsibility for their welfare, offering support and provide constructive feedback.
You will maintain excellent communication within the Team and ensure that all records are kept up to date, remain relevant and valid for the children we care for.
you will ensure that the child's voice is listened to and that all children experience choice, individuality, personal dignity and are provided with positive life experiences. You will promote positive growth and development of the children/young people within our care and implement measures that will protect them from harm. You will contribute to the assessment, planning and decision making process for all of our individual children/young people, in relation to their health, educational, behavioural and social care needs.
You will contribute to the amendment and the development of a Statement of Purpose, Work Force Development Plan for the Home. Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of Home ensuring that service meets all the assessed needs of our individual children and young people in accordance to the Children's Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards. You will form a key role and responsibility for ensuring that the Home delivers and high standard of Corporate Parenting for all children within our Care.

You will prepare for, contribute and relevant meetings, such as Looked After Children's Reviews, EHC reviews, PEPs etc. You will have excellent report writing skills and will be expected to submit reports in preparation for individual meetings for the child.
You will also be a part of the Homes annual Ofsted Inspection, where you will demonstrate clear knowledge of the Homes policies, procedures and statutory duties and requirements.
You will be responsible for undertaking key roles around Rotas, budget monitoring, administering medication, facilitating health, educational and social care appointments and/or meetings and effectively shift-leading within the Home to ensure that the Home is running as effectively as possible.
You MUST hold a UK driving license to be able to drive the children and young people on a daily basis (education, family time and activities) this is integral to meet their needs.
You must be qualified - Hold a Level 3 in Children and Young People.
