Hours: 35 per week



Salary: 24,954 per annum



New Outlook has been providing housing and care services to people with sensory impairment across the West Midlands for over 170 years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with passion and determination to take a lead role in driving excellence within a small, 24-hour residential care home in Erdington.

39 Silverbirch Road is a CQC registered property that provides 24-hour specialist care and support to vulnerable adults aged 18-65 with a sensory impairment, and other complex needs.

As Team Leader, you will work with the Manager to lead the care team to deliver excellent outcomes for people with a range of complex needs. These include visual impairment, learning and/or physical disabilities and acquired brain injury.

You must have at least 2 years' care experience in a similar position, a Level 2 QCF/NVQ in Care and a willingness to participate in vocational training, e.g. NVQ 3, and have flexibility in shift/working patterns to meet the needs of the service.

You should have good organisational and communication skills both verbally and written, be flexible to the needs of the people we support and service, and have a 'can do' hands on approach to care.

The Team Leader role is varied and includes:

All aspects of care work; assisting with personal care, medication, shopping, meal preparation, person centred planning, activities Being a role model for the team and displaying good principles of care All aspects of staff management including rotas, recruitment, staff induction, supervision, appraisals and training Leading in the completion of assessments, care plans, reviews and case conferences Quality monitoring and data collection Liaising with professionals, relatives and advocates Maintaining quality standards, Health and Safety, and CQC requirements/compliance Shift work along with some weekend working Act as Duty Officer with allocating workloads Participating in the On-Call rota Taking charge of the service in the absence of the Manager Attending regular meetings and forums as directed Undertake and/or attend all required training To adhere to all policies and procedures
