We have an exciting vacancy for a Surfacing Team Leader.
Core Responsibilities:
Managing the development of the Surfacing Team including managing staff performance against agreed objectives & skills levels alongside the surfacing manager.
Facilitate the training of new team members including regular 1-2-1's, whilst ensuring probation reviews, appraisals and competencies are completed for all staff.
Ensure the team delivers exceptional quality of work of surfacing lenses.
To act quickly regarding issues within the surfacing department with the view to reduce the number of lenses being rejected at our quality controls
To identify areas that need to be improved and facilitate training to support.
Help coordinate day-to-day activities in the surfacing department, supporting the team in achieving high standards in quality, safety and efficiency.
Responsible for guiding a team and monitoring workflow.
Acting as the go to person for troubleshooting, mentoring, and process improvements, with an ability to challenge performance within the team.
About You:
You'll have a 'can do', proactive attitude, be people focused and be able to take a measured approach to workload management, enabling delivery of key work targets.
To succeed in the role, you'll be extremely organised and have a strong understanding of our production processes, as well as experience in people management.
Most importantly, you'll be a great communicator and leader who is both process and people focused, and can work with their people to help better develop them whilst driving quality.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Experience of team leadership with a proven track record
Multi-task effectively and use your own initiative
Assess, analyse and make production aware decisions
Numerate with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work dynamically and accurately under pressure
Proven track record in meeting agreed KPIs and adhere to Project timelines.
