We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused
Team Leader
to oversee our
hospitality and retail departments
within our vibrant garden centre. This role is perfect for someone with experience in retail or food service who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Operations
Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the cafe and retail shop.
Supervise and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of service.
Organise daily staff schedules and delegate tasks effectively.
Conduct regular team briefings and on-the-job training.
Customer Service
Ensure every customer receives a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their visit.
Resolve customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and presentation in retail and hospitality areas.
Retail Duties
Oversee product displays and merchandising according to seasonal themes and promotional campaigns.
Monitor stock levels, carry out inventory checks, and assist with ordering stock.
Ensure correct pricing and signage are in place at all times.
Hospitality Duties
Support the cafe team with food and beverage preparation, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.
Monitor food safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in line with health regulations.
Help implement menu updates and seasonal offerings.
Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with all health and safety, food safety, and fire regulations.
Conduct routine checks and ensure risk assessments are up to date.
Skills & Experience:
Previous supervisory experience in a retail or hospitality setting
Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.
A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate preferred).
Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays as required.
You must be aged 18 or over to be The Garden Kitchen Team Leader as you'll need to authorise age-related sales.
