Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and motivated
Team Leader
to oversee our
Finishing department
during shift operations. You will coordinate all finishing activities to ensure products are completed
on time and in full (OTIF)
and to the highest standard. In the absence of departmental management, you will take responsibility for the full Finishing operation and may also support decision?making across
Cut & Crease
and
Print
.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all Finishing area activities during your shift.
Communicate production commitments and ensure plans are completed on schedule.
Coordinate with managers to ensure maintenance tasks are completed and recorded.
Ensure PPE is worn correctly, and investigate/report any accidents or incidents.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and safety.
Control workflow to deliver quality output and achieve OTIF performance.
Organise break cover and support planning for holiday/sickness resourcing.
Liaise with Planning, Print, Cut & Crease, and the Warehouse to keep production on track.
Proactively identify risks or opportunities that may impact the production plan.
Ensure full compliance with operational procedures, standards, and systems.
Complete reports, investigations, and job?specific documentation as required.
Drive performance in areas including
HSE, RFT quality, OTIF, downtime reduction, CTTF, and waste reduction
.
Act as first point of contact for employee relations matters including RTWIs, investigations, disciplinary hearings, and grievances.
Lead team briefings and communicate business updates and best practice.
Undertake any other reasonable duties within the role.
Skills & Experience
Experience within a
packaging
or
FMCG
environment (preferred).
Knowledge of standards such as
BRC, ISO9001, ISO12647, ISO18001, ISO14001
.
Experience implementing
continuous improvement
initiatives.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage people, processes, and machinery.
Excellent problem?solving ability and strong cost awareness.
Able to work effectively in a fast?paced, high?pressure environment.
Ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire a team.
Confident communicating with colleagues at all levels.
High level of attention to detail and a tenacious, proactive approach.
Intermediate IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Full clean UK Driving Licence (some travel may be required).
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present clearly to various audiences.
Enthusiastic, self?motivated, and able to multitask effectively under pressure.
Demonstrates strong ownership, work ethic, and a positive attitude.
Flexible to support other roles and multi?site working where required.
