Speciality Breads is seeking Production Team Leaders for our new state of the art Bakery with highspeed automated production lines this will be an exciting time to join the business with the set up of our new bakery and whoever joins the team will be part of the set up and start up process . application from those candidates with experience in automated production lines or similar high-speed production will be most welcome.

Purpose of the Role



To lead and coordinate production operations within an automated bakery, ensuring output meets safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The Production Team Leader oversees line performance, supports operators, resolves production issues, and ensures smooth, continuous operation of automated equipment.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the production team to achieve planned output, quality, and efficiency targets Monitor automated bakery lines, identify performance issues, and escalate to Engineering when required Coordinate changeovers, start-ups, and shutdowns in line with SOPs Ensure compliance with safety, food hygiene, GMP, and site procedures Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and system updates Work closely with Engineering to minimise downtime and support fault resolution Provide training, coaching, and daily guidance to operators Drive adherence to production schedules and optimise line flow Support continuous improvement and root cause investigations Ensure effective shift handovers and communication across teams

Health & Safety Responsibilities



Enforce site safety procedures and promote safe behaviours Ensure compliance with risk assessments, permit-to-work boundaries, and hygiene standards Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately Participate in safety briefings and lead toolbox talks Maintain a clean, organised, and safe production area

Leading a team in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery environment Managing production flow across automated equipment and multiple lines Balancing throughput, product quality, and compliance requirements Responding quickly to performance issues and minimising disruption Making decisions under pressure with limited support during night or weekend shifts

Entry Criteria

Experience in food manufacturing; bakery experience advantageous Proven leadership experience in a production or line-management role Strong understanding of automated processing and packing equipment Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a production team Comfortable working a 12-hour, 4-on-4-off shift pattern Purpose of the Role

Experience in automated production lines or similar high-speed production

This will initially be Monday - Thursday 12 hour shifts with paid breaks before moving to a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Start and finish times will vary depending on department but will vary between 5am - 9am start times

Salary 32,000 - 36,000 PA dependant on experience
