Job Description

We are currently seeking to recruit a female only Team Leader to manage a team of complex support workers, working for a 11-year-old boy in Stanmore HA7.

The client sustained a traumatic brain injury resulting in complex health needs, he requires support with managing his Epilepsy, Gastro feed, personal care needs, medication, manual handling, and communication needs.

The role will involve managing a small team of complex care workers. The team provides essential support for the client, including all daily living tasks, therapies, accessing the community for leisure and health appointments.

The team leader will be an integral part of a well establish and professional team, working with the client, alongside the clinical rehabilitation team, case manager, case manager assistant and his family.

We aim to offer a competitive salary of 20.00 per hour.

Ideally you will:

Have a good understanding of Brain injury and the needs of person with profound learning difficulties.

Have experience working with people with brain injuries.

Hold an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care or be willing to work towards it.

Be confident, enthusiastic, flexible, reliable and able to cover shifts at short notice if required.

Be willing to learn and develop their skills by undertaking additional person development training.

Be motivated to explore extra community activities for the client and make suitable arrangements for access.

Be able to work with a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Be able to maintain accurate and confidential written. records including care planning and risk management

Have a full, clean driving licence.

Have a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Check (or willingness to undertake).

Have experience in managing a team who provide support and care for the client, ensuring safety and physical wellbeing.

Facilitate the client's independence by ensuring the staff adopt the appropriate approaches as advised by the case manager and the clinical team.

Provide on-going support and supervision of the support team including rotas, electronic monitoring system, arranging cover for annual leave and sickness.

Compleat regular supervisions, appraisals, competencies and client specific training.

Understand CQC compliance and be willing to ensue appropriate audits are completed regularly.

Act as the named individual for contact in the absence of the case manager.
