Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Team Leader based at Swansea who will report to the Field Operations Team Manager and will be responsible for leading a group of Craft (operational) staff.
The key focus of this role is to lead an efficient and productive team across a region. Key considerations for the successful running of your team include: ensuring they are working compliantly within H&S policies, coordinating programmes of work for them to undertake, maximising efficiencies in delivery, ensuring your team has the appropriate development and authorisations and effectively managing performance on a 1:1 basis.
This is a crucial role to help drive forward performance and give our large teams the support they need in the field. The new Team Leader role will be one of ways to help
The starting salary will be 43,491 moving to 47,197 on completion of training.
Main Responsibilities
Ensuring your teams adherence to Health and Safety regulations
Efficient scheduling of work activities
Collaboration with other teams to manage workload
Driving team productivity and individual performance management
Maintaining a full schedule of work for the team
Ensure our people have the appropriate training and work authorisations to support a safe and productive working environment
Respond quickly and professionally to customer complaints
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an excellent communicator, who has the ability to build strong relationships with our customers. A problem solver who is organised and can plan ahead.
You must have a proven track record of managing teams including managing and driving performance, as well as experience of being the point of escalation for both internal and external stakeholders.
You'll need a good understanding or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of:
Electricity Safety
Health & Safety Legislation
Quality & Continuity Regulations 2002
Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
The NGED distribution business
NGED Craft roles and activities undertaken
Some Commercial and Financial awareness would be an advantage.
A NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable however, full training can be provided.
You must hold a full, valid UK/EU driving licence as you will be required to attend site visits.
This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service (DBS) check. Depending on the role, different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
