We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our amazing team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. We are looking for a senior carer that has a good understanding of residents rights, and the importance of choice and freedom within a care setting. You will play a vital part in implementing digital care plans and supervising junior staff, contributing to a positive living environment for our senior residents. The home is currently in the process of going digital, the candidate will need to be able to understand systems (training will be provided).
Duties
Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
Develop and maintain person centred care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
Support your team with supervisions and appraisals.
Develop and complete risk assessments, including Health and Safety and COSHH.
Be an active member of the team to promote dignity, choice and well-being.
Ensure that good practice is maintained within the home at all times and be able to raise concerns.
Working to own initiative and able to work to deadlines with regards to monthly auditing and reviews.
Must be confident within the role and be able to deal with conflict, and support the manager with any safeguarding or disciplinary processes should they arise.
Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and assist in administrative tasks related to resident care.
Be confident with digital systems.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in senior care and leadership.
Be part of the on-call roster.
Experience
Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is preferred.
Strong communication skills are vital for interacting with residents and their families.
Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining records and care plans is advantageous.
A passion for providing high-quality care to the residents is essential.
Leadership qualities are desirable for supervising staff effectively within the care home environment.
The starting rate for this position is 13.60, this will be increased after 6 months following a successful probation period.
