A home with heart
Wharfedale House is a welcoming home for 18 adults with physical disabilities, located in the market town of Wetherby, West Yorkshire. Our residents benefit from a supportive, person-centred environment that prioritises independence and quality of life.
Your working hours
This is a full-time role, 42.5 hours per week, with shifts from 08:00 - 20:30 and one additional shift of 08:00-14:30 or 14:00-20:30. We also have occasional/bank hours available.
From 1 December 2025, enhancement rates of 1.00 per hour will apply to night working (8pm Monday - 7am Friday) and weekend working (8pm Friday - 7am Monday). (This does not apply to sleep-ins.)
About the role
As a Care Team Leader with Leonard Cheshire, you will supervise and support a team of Support Workers, promoting positive outcomes for residents and supporting a flexible, person-centred approach. You will:
Lead with passion and enthusiasm, ensuring residents receive high-quality care and support
Support customers with daily tasks and help them achieve their individual aspirations
Promote independence through personalised care planning
Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of Support Workers
Work collaboratively with residents, families, and colleagues to provide excellent care
What helps you shine here
Level of professional development/registration (NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Health and Social Care) or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience supervising a team in a care setting
Flexibility to work within rostered hours and participate in an on-call rota
Creative and proactive approach to supporting residents
