We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Care Team Leader to oversee daily care operations within Bethany House. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in health and social care, and the ability to manage a care team effectively. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team in delivering exceptional person-centred care while ensuring the dignity, safety, and well-being of our residents. The position is suitable for individuals with relevant care home experience who are passionate about supporting the elderly and mentoring staff.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of Care Assistants, ensuring smooth daily operations and high standards of care delivery.
Resident Care:
Oversee the delivery of personal care, ensuring residents are supported with dignity and respect according to their individual care plans.
Safe Moving & Handling:
Supervise and ensure the safe use of manual handling equipment, specifically
full hoists, standaids, and rotandas
, ensuring staff are using slidesheets and glides correctly to protect resident skin integrity.
Medication Management:
Administer medication safely and accurately in accordance with medical prescriptions and Bethany House policy, including auditing MAR charts.
Care Planning:
Assist in the admission process and update person-centred care plans and risk assessments to reflect changing needs.
Communication:
Act as a focal point for communication between the care team, management, residents' families, and external healthcare professionals (GPs, District Nurses).
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety policies at all times.
Training & Development:
Support the induction of new staff and identify training needs within the team to ensure best practices are followed.
Qualifications
Experience:
Proven supervisory experience within a residential care or nursing home environment (Senior Carer or Team Leader level).
Education:
NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it) is essential.
Technical Skills:
Competent in the use of moving and handling equipment including
hoists, standaids, and rotandas
.
Medication:
Certified and experienced in the safe administration of medication.
Leadership:
Strong ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and handle challenging situations with a calm, professional attitude.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and liaising with families and professionals.
Compassion:
A genuine passion for elderly care and a commitment to upholding the rights and choices of residents.
