Team Leader - Manufacturing

Location: Express Bi-Folding Doors, Leeds
Reporting to: Head of Manufacturing Operations

Role Overview

As a Team Leader within our aluminium fabrication facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of your team, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met. You will play a key role in managing workflows, supporting your team, and liaising with other departments to ensure production targets are achieved in line with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily and morning audits, including safety checks, using a prompted digital questionnaire. Ensure fire safety roll calls are completed and kept up to date every morning and throughout the working day. Control and oversee the flow of work through your area, ensuring jobs are completed in a timely manner as per Planning Department schedules. Liaise effectively with the Planning team and other Team Leaders to coordinate production priorities and resolve bottlenecks. Supervise, guide, and support staff within your team, including: Monitoring attendance, timekeeping, and performance. Allocating work and setting daily priorities and monitoring daily workload. Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring all team members follow correct working practices. Drive process improvement by identifying areas for increased efficiency, reduced waste, and improved product quality. Encourage and maintain good communication across the shop floor, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

Skills & Experience

Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements in a production setting. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Hands-on approach with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Pay: 13.50-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
