Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced

Team Supervisor

to oversee daily operations within our Care home for the elderly, aged 65 and over. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in care , must have experience in managing teams and have good organisational skills. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring safety standards are maintained, liaising with outside agencies and families and delivering exceptional standards of care to our residents.

Duties



The team leader will ensure that the daily diary and staff communication book reflects all happenings and that all necessary paperwork will be gathered to meet any appointments as necessary. To make necessary telephone calls to GP's or any other agencies required to maintain the good health and well- being of all clients. To ensure that all paperwork is in place to allow staff to maintain effective report righting. To carryout spot checks on a weekly basis of the home, all communal areas and residents bedrooms, ensuring that they are no malodours to rooms, toilets, corridors or lounges. The client's appearance, and general well being must also be checked daily to promote there dignity. The team leader should ensure that bathrooms and kitchen area's are kept clean. Following the daily / weekly checks, must be able to deal with faults, liaise with the senior staff, and the registered manager. Must be confident to praise staff where appropriate and deal with concerns / complaints and action accordingly. Support the team during busy periods by actively participating in covering for holidays and sickness leave. To be confident with ordering and receiving medications, complete medication returns, record on mar charts and complete audits and stock checks. Uphold organisational policies & procedures. To identify training needs and requirements of staff. To assist with resident reviews. To monitor, complete referrals to required agencies such as Dieticians, Bowel & Bladder, CQC, Safeguarding. Be able to work independently and act in the best interest of the residents and the home at all times.

Requirements



Proven supervising experience within a residential setting (at Least 5 Years) Strong background in team leading / senior care. (at least 5 Years) It is a requirement of this role to have excellent supervisory skills to be able to support the Manager and pass on knowledge to enable staff to carryout their role effectively. Observation is key in this role and the ability to spot concerns of the residents and take appropriate action. Good listening skills is essential. The team leader will be expected to lead by example and promote a high standard of care at all times. The team leader will be expected to complete an on-call for 7 days, once in every three weeks in liaison with the Registered Manager. This role involves working one weekend in three. This role will involve 24 hours care work, overseeing the team, and completing personal care requirements. 16 hours per week office based working alongside the registered Manager. Care shifts are 7am -7pm and office days are 8.30am - 4.30pm. The team leader will be expected to oversee the home in the absence of the Registered Manager. The team leader will be required to complete any training appliable to their role.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on improving life's of individuals who are not able to complete this independently. The team leader must value teamwork, and have a keen interest in residential care. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of service while leading a motivated team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
