Overview:

The London Borough of Harrow is looking for an experienced and resilient Team Manager to lead a multidisciplinary group of Social Workers, Senior Practitioners, and support staff. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality services to children, adults and families. Your focus will be on ensuring that individuals receive a cost-effective and efficient service that remains rooted in a human-centred approach.

As a steward of statutory responsibilities, you will ensure that all team activities align with Harrow's strategic, operational, and financial priorities. You will be responsible for translating high-level organisational goals into daily practice, maintaining strict adherence to legal policies and safeguarding procedures. A significant part of this role involves driving performance by meeting key targets and fostering a culture of professional excellence within the team.

By providing robust supervision and clear direction, you will help the borough navigate the complexities of modern social work while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care for Harrow's most vulnerable residents. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering the borough's vision of integrated, preventative care that empowers families to thrive.
About you:

The successful candidate will have:A recognised professional Social Work qualification (e.g.: CQSW or Dip SW) and a minimum of four years post qualifying experience, including the management and supervision of social care staff undertaking statutory work with children and families, preferably in a fieldwork setting. Registered with Social work Englandl as a social work professional. Knowledge of regulatory and inspection frameworks governing children's services, adult services and housing. Experience of providing professional supervision, team building, reflective learning and development. Excellent communication skills. Excellent assessment and analytical skills. Ability to form, develop and maintain effective partnership relationships. Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.

This post will require a satisfactory enhanced DBS.
