About the Post:






This is an exciting time to join Barnsley Children and Family Social Care Service who are seeking to recruit a Team Manager with a specific interest in driving best practice for our most vulnerable children.



This role will have a specific focus around the Public Law Outline. You will have no case holding or direct supervision responsibilities in this role.



Who are we looking for?





A social work qualified individual, with extensive experience of working within the court arena and understanding of the Public Law Outline Experience of supporting and mentoring others An ability to form robust working relationships Confidence in inputting and analysing data and using this to identify themes and trends Excellent report writing skills and an ability to present to a varied audience A commitment to supporting best practice Self motivated, forward thinking and able to work to deadlines

Key expectations in this role will be:





Lead on our Legal Tracker, gathering high quality detailed information relating to pre proceedings work and care proceedings. Work closely with the social work service and legal team to mentor and support best practice in the court arena. Identify and monitor emerging themes around best practice and areas for development Be a point of contact for referral into and contribute to legal panel Undertake thematic reviews and audits of key documents (e.g. chronologies, assessments, care plans, Social Worker statements etc.) Have a role in the Family Justice Subgroup alongside the Service Manager Work with legal services to ensure that level of liaison between legal department supports high quality work and decision making Support and co work with social workers to produce the required documentation to a high standard Attend hearings to support practitioners when required Work with legal department and Practice Development Hub to devise training and support workforce development to ensure that a training package is provided that supports best practice in all aspects of work in legal proceedings. Ensure procedures and guidelines and supporting documentation regarding public law proceedings, accurately reflects practice requirements of the PLO and legislation and are accessible to and understood by all practitioners. Undertake local and regional research to identify any themes or underlying common factors
