Salary range: 61,653 - 65,181 p.a. inc. London weighting


A 5000 'golden hello' for (SW Qualified) managers new to Brent, upon completion of their probationary period. An annual retention payment of 3000 for eligible frontline social workers/managers from Grade PO2 - PO7
Contract: Permanent


Hours of work: 36 hours per week


Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time

The Post
As Team Manager of the Assessment & Wellbeing Team, you will play a pivotal leadership role in Brent Adult Social Care, overseeing a team that delivers medium to long-term support to residents with complex needs. The team operates within a strength-based, person-centred framework, aiming to promote independence, wellbeing, and dignity.


Key Responsibilities


Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring timely and effective delivery of assessments, care planning, and reviews. Safeguarding Oversight: Lead and support safeguarding enquiries, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and best practice. Practice Development: Champion high-quality social work practice, embedding legal literacy and reflective supervision. Performance Management: Monitor KPIs, caseloads, and outcomes to ensure the team meets service standards and delivers value. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with health partners, housing, voluntary sector, and internal ASC teams to deliver integrated support. Service Improvement: Contribute to strategic planning and service redesign, using data and feedback to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
The Person
As Team Manager, you will lead the Assessment & Wellbeing Team, which provides medium to long-term support to adults with complex needs. The team works within a strength-based, person-centred framework, aiming to promote independence, wellbeing, and dignity.


You'll be expected to:


Inspire and motivate staff Foster a culture of accountability and compassion Promote trauma-informed and anti-discriminatory practice Support staff wellbeing and professional development Have strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights Act, and Safeguarding Adults procedures Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Have ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure Competence in using case management systems and data to inform practice Commitment to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice
