Job Description

As a Customer Technical Support Operator, you will be an integral part of a vital team at Hills. Our customers rely on the equipment and software we provide to assemble number plates themselves. Naturally they occasionally require assistance to ensure they can do that as and when they require. This means that we need to be both pro-active and reactive in such support and maintenance. You will play an important role in that support, ensuring we maintain the very highest of standards and our customers are fully supported and satisfied.

Role & Responsibilities

Providing customer technical support, via telephone or email to support clients and departments to resolve technical issues with software, thermal barcode and laser printers, PCs and other peripheral hardware.

Monitor, respond to and document all service support requests and resolutions.

Manage printer and equipment inventory, including booking out of replacement machines and replacement parts, as well as arranging collection and return of faulty units.

Supporting and gaining a thorough understanding and working knowledge of UGroup UK's bespoke licence plate printing software.

A good understanding of MS Windows, installation and configuration of Windows printer drivers and troubleshooting of printing related and general Windows technical issues.

Coordinating with and providing support to remote field operatives, client IT personnel and contractor IT personnel as required.

Completing administrative aspects of the role whilst striving to identify and eliminate errors.

Install, configure, and maintain thermal and laser printers along with any related hardware.

Tear down, rebuild, repair and refurbish printers for redeployment.

Key Skills Required



excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware and software issues relating to printers.

Hands on approach to PC hardware and basic system building skills.

Demonstrate analytical skills and an ability to troubleshoot and think independently.

Knowledge of basic networking.

Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues affecting printers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 25,000.00-27,000.00 per year
