This position is ideal for someone who;

Responsibilities
Serve as a core reviewer of all R&D claims prior to submission, focusing on technical compliance, narrative consistency, and financial coherence.
Interpret and apply the CIRD Manual as well as other guidance, to validate claim eligibility and structure.
Lead internal training and upskilling sessions on R&D guidance, HMRC best practices, and claim defensibility.
Pro-active in staying ahead of industry and HMRC changes, and advise the business on necessary adaptations.
Requirements
Proven experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting UK R&D tax relief claims.
In-depth understanding of HMRC's CIRD Manual and how it applies across sectors
Ability to assess, and articulate, scientific/technological advancements in accordance with R&D tax criteria.
A natural pro-active drive, and curiousity, to help work with the team on how processes can be improved internally within, and at the boundaries, of your scope of work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to advise both internal teams and clients on complex technical interpretations.
Desirable (but not essential)
Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CTA) or part-qualified with relevant experience.
Experience in leading enquiry responses to R&D claims on behalf of clients with HMRC
Please Note: The final salary, which sits between 35,000 - 50,000 would be determined (but not limited to) on the following factors;
Experience of the individual for the day-to-day role
Experience of the individual in any of the "desirables" mentioned
Judgement of competency, ability to learn, and level of immediate autonomy perceived to be given by the company, to the successful applicant
