About the Role:



We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented

R&D Tax Junior

to join our growing tax team within a dynamic accountancy practice. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in tax advisory, specialising in Research & Development (R&D) tax incentives. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support clients in preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims, with training provided throughout.

Key Responsibilities:



As a Tax Trainee your responsibilities will include:

Completion of initial admin steps when onboarding new clients Assist in the preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims for a broad range of clients. Assist with tax compliance tasks, including gathering relevant data for tax returns, reviewing financial information, and ensuring that all documents are completed accurately and on time. Gather and analyse technical and financial information to support R&D claims. Liaise with clients to understand their business activities and identify qualifying R&D projects. Work closely with colleagues across tax, accounts, and audit teams to ensure accurate and compliant claims. Keep up to date with relevant legislation and HMRC guidance related to R&D tax relief. Support in maintaining accurate records and documentation for claims. Undertake research to support technical discussions and reports. Provide administrative assistance to the R&D team as required. Develop the ability to handle client queries and offer clear, concise responses. Develop a solid understanding of tax legislation and its application in various contexts. Attend training sessions, both internal and external, to further your knowledge of tax and accounting practices. Actively apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings and contribute to the team's success. Contribute to the firm's business growth by delivering excellent client service and supporting the firm's values. Actively participate in team activities, supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment.

Key Requirements:



Degree or A-levels in a relevant subject (Accounting, Finance, Science, Engineering, Technology, or similar) or working towards AAT/ATT/ACCA/ACA qualifications. Enthusiasm to learn and develop knowledge of R&D tax incentives.

Additional Requirements:



Interest or background in science, engineering, software, or technical fields. Awareness of UK R&D tax relief schemes Attention to detail and accuracy in handling numbers and financial data. Strong desire to learn and develop professionally in tax and accounting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong team player, dependable, and proactive.
