Job Description


Technical Analyst working in the Regulatory and Strategic Programmes area within Markets and Security Services (MSS) Technology. The focus of the role is to work across MSS Technology providing analysis and solution for Regulatory programmes.

MSS Technology supports all MSS business areas; circa 60 distinct product areas with a presence in over 50 countries. The business is c$15,5Bn revenue and MSS IT drives the 1,200 applications that form the backbone of the business. MSS IT is 6,500 staff globally and, within this, the Regulatory and Strategic programmes team supports all business in their delivery of complex regulatory programmes requiring front to back deliveries across technology and the business.

Role Summary

  • The role is for a Technical Analyst to work across MSS Technology helping to deliver Front to Back programmes:
  • Work with Technology and Business teams to define and document pragmatic solutions and then partner with the teams to help deliver these into production.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are deliverable in an agile manner with a focus on early and iterative deliveries into production to ensure confidence in the programme\'s road maps.
  • To look for opportunities to improve processes and the way that they are supported through liaison with both the business and the technology.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are documented to a high standard and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Work with MSS and associated Technology teams to align proposed solutions with agreed strategic architectures and delivery programmes
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience in complex, large scale Front Office and/or Market Risk transformational programme - preferably a large regulatory programme
  • Engagement with stakeholders across Front Office trading and quants; Risk; Finance; Technology and Capital Management functions
  • Understanding of how trading and risk management activities are organised and carried out, and the rules and standards around these.
  • Experience of change delivery and analysis within Front Office and/or Market Risk including knowledge of FRTB within the context of a multi-entity large investment bank
Essential Competencies
  • Knowledge of traded products, market risk methodologies, trading systems, risk management and control processes
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple streams of activities concurrently
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance the outcomes of the programmes.
