Purpose of the Role




As our

Technical Assurance Manager

, you'll be at the heart of NTS's mission to deliver world-leading nuclear assurance. You'll lead the development of processes, procedures, and people--bringing technical excellence, challenge, and innovation to everything you do. You'll be a trusted advisor, a strategic thinker, and a cultural champion, helping us stay ahead of regulatory requirements and industry expectations.


What You'll Be Accountable For



Lead assurance activities

across our management systems, ensuring compliance with stakeholder and industry standards.

Become a subject matter expert

in nuclear and assurance disciplines including security & resilience, HSEQ, and information governance.

Drive investigations

to uncover root causes and embed lessons learned.

Shape technical specifications

for contracts and procurement, identifying risks and opportunities.

Build strong relationships

across NTS, NDA, regulators, and industry bodies.

Design and deliver training

that ensures our people are SQEP--and explore opportunities to generate revenue through external training.

Stay ahead of the curve

on regulatory and industry updates, maintaining oversight of relevant systems.

Represent NTS

at meetings with customers and professional bodies (e.g. ONR, Chamber of Shipping, RSSB, NR).

Support risk management

, including development of risk registers and assurance of business risks.

Lead dashboard development

and use data to identify technical improvements and support performance.

Support licensing and permit requirements

, acting as quality control checker and regulatory liaison officer.

Dimensions of the Role



Budget Access:

HSEQ and SAR budget lines for projects, training, and deliverables.

Team:

1-2 direct reports, including NDA Graduates (varies year to year).

Collaboration:

Work closely with NTS functional heads, Head of HSEQ Rail, NDA, regulators, suppliers, and industry bodies.

What You'll Bring



Essential Qualifications & Experience



Internal Auditor qualification Strong knowledge of nuclear and international regulations (including transport) Experience in root cause investigations Proven stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical matters Demonstrated ability to improve processes and drive performance

Desirable



Qualifications in Security, HSEQ, Rail or Shipping Experience in strategy delivery and dashboard tooling (e.g. PowerBI) Investigation and incident management training
