W Christie (Industrial) Ltd - The Company

W Christie (Ind) Ltd are a manufacturer and supplier of torque tooling and bespoke engineered solutions, supplying into sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, utility and manufacturing companies along with many more industries and we are looking to successfully increase sales in Scotland.

Our activities cover a range of torque tooling and accessories. As well as promoting standard tooling, the role is increasingly one of consultation and providing engineered solutions based on customers ideas.

We have an impressive client list, that includes major organisations, and we are seeking an experienced solutions engineer to support and promote the development of W. Christie's expertise.

The Job Role

This role has been developed to establish and manage requirements of all customers throughout Scotland.

The successful candidate will be the technical and commercial interface between new and existing clients, and W. Christie's industrial division.

The role will be working from early involvement of site/survey and application requirements, moving to offer of solution and pricing, follow up to win business, then liaison throughout the projects - sometimes resulting in commissioning and assurance/ handover stages.

They will exploit their knowledge of the Engineering sector, and the capabilities of W. Christie, to win business by developing & maintaining a pipeline of business opportunities.

To produce high quality, technically accurate, application analysis in support of client projects

To understand and be able to sell innovative solutions

To understand engineering market needs and translate these into areas of opportunity for W. Christie

To understand the approaches and value offerings of W. Christie competitors in order to evaluate and enhance our competitive position

To develop and maintain a strong client network and key client relationships

To collaborate with relevant functions to ensure W. Christie's design offerings demonstrate compliance to technical requirements

To attend design review meetings and provide accurate site details to assist the design process

To provide technical bid submissions

Experience/Qualifications/Skills

Engineering qualifications

Ability to read engineering Drawings

At least 5 years hands on engineering experience

Proven track record of applying technical knowledge and a broad understanding of a wide range of industries

The ability to accurately assess site restrictions, take & document measurements, and report findings (design engineering experience would be advantageous here)

Have good business awareness & understanding of commercial issues

Excellent communicator and negotiations skills with experience of dealing with customers

Calm & diplomatic under pressure

The nature of the job will incur 4 days traveling to clients so a company car will be provided.

One home office day will be required for admin.

Visits to W Christie's main site in Rotherham will be required periodically.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 45,000.00-50,000.00 per year
