We are seeking an experienced
Technical Buyer
with strong
engineering and MRO
knowledge to join a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, commercially critical role where you will support engineering and production teams by sourcing technically accurate, cost-effective parts, components, and services across multiple categories.
You will manage the full procurement lifecycle -- from interpreting drawings and specifications through to supplier negotiation, order placement, and delivery -- while building strong global supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to source appropriate parts globally
Manage end-to-end procurement from tender and specification through to delivery
Lead supplier negotiations on price, lead time, and quality
Work closely with engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing teams
Develop and monitor supplier KPIs and performance metrics
Build and maintain strong global supplier relationships
Support cost-reduction and re-engineering initiatives
Resolve invoice discrepancies and manage order delivery schedules
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
Contribute to sourcing strategies and departmental improvement projects
About You
Proven experience as a
Technical Buyer
or similar role within engineering or manufacturing
Strong technical understanding of
MRO components, materials, and processes
Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Skilled negotiator with strong commercial awareness
Highly organised, methodical, and able to work under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement/ERP systems
Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams
