Description





We are looking for an experienced

Technical Buyer

to support our relentless pursuit of performance by sourcing complex carbon fibre components and assemblies that drive our race-winning Formula One cars. In this role, you will be responsible for the procurement and expediting of high-performance parts across the F1 car, ensuring quality, cost, and lead-time targets are met while actively managing supply chain risks. You will work closely with design, engineering, logistics, and supplier quality teams to ensure seamless part delivery, maintain accurate component status within our ERP system, and contribute to key departmental KPIs.

Key Responsibilities





Managing the end-to-end procurement of complex composite components, including carbon fibre structures, bonded assemblies, and raw materials, while also supporting related categories such as metallics and electronics. Ensure the validity of parts supply is clear within the ERP system and use this data to consistently hit departmental KPI targets Supporting supplier onboarding and development in partnership with our Supplier Quality Team. Ensure components are purchased with quality, cost, and lead time in mind, understanding and mitigating the risks to the business with any deviation from this requirement. Ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design. Maintaining and enhancing relationships within the supply chain through transparent and proactive engagement. Embedding a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration across all procurement functions.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise





Proven experience in sourcing and procuring carbon fibre and composite components within high-performance industries such as Formula 1, motorsport, or advanced manufacturing. Familiarity with material specifications, tolerances, and quality standards specific to composite materials. Strong understanding technical drawings, manufacturing processes and component assembly. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. IFS, SAP). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment. A results-oriented mindset with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities, especially in managing supplier relationships and resolving technical procurement challenges. A collaborative team player with a passion for excellence and continuous improvement.
