As a Technical Claims Handler, you will handle cradle to grave a portfolio of complex and technical insurance claims, including injury-related cases across sectors such as retail, public liability, employer's liability, and property. You will ensure accurate and efficient handling of claims from initial notification through to resolution, maintaining high standards of service and compliance.



Key Responsibilities:


Claims Management: Handle end-to-end claims processes including new claim intake, interim advice, evidence review, and settlement recommendations. Injury Claims Handling: Assess and manage personal injury claims, including workplace injuries, public liability incidents, and third-party bodily injury. Liaise with medical experts and legal representatives to evaluate causation, prognosis, and settlement options. Technical Analysis: Evaluate liability, coverage, and quantum issues using policy documentation, legal principles, and medical reports. Communication: Liaise with clients, insurers, solicitors, and internal teams to gather information and provide updates. Documentation: Maintain accurate records and correspondence in line with regulatory and internal standards. Systems Use: Navigate claims management platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, internal portals) to track progress and upload documentation. Compliance: Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with FCA regulations and company procedures. Team Collaboration: Work closely with Clients, stakeholders and other specialist units to share knowledge and support complex cases.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience:


Proven experience in handling technical insurance claims, including injury-related cases, ideally within a UK-based environment. Strong understanding of liability, indemnity, personal injury law, and policy interpretation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in claims systems and Microsoft Office tools. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
