The Role



Laker Vent Engineering is looking for a Technical Clerk to join our team in Ayrshire. This role provides administrative and technical support to the project team, ensuring accurate data entry and effective communication across departments. The role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a naturally questioning approach to ensure information is accurate, complete, and aligned to site and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Input, update, and maintain project information, registers, and databases with a high level of accuracy (data entry is a core aspect of this role). Collect, review, and verify data from site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors before entry into project systems. Assist with producing weekly and monthly reports, trackers, and status updates. Communicate clearly with site personnel to gather information, clarify details, and resolve data gaps. Provide general administrative support to the project team, including printing, scanning, and maintaining shared records. Work closely with supervision team and challenge any data that is not accurate prior to inputting into the system Work with Commercial Manager and compile data that may be required to form part of compensation events or early warning notifications

Skills and Attributes



Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail Confident challenging data and speaking with supervision and management team Naturally curious, with a questioning approach to ensure accuracy and completeness of information. Organised, methodical, and able to prioritise workload effectively. Good communication skills and confidence to follow up with colleagues to obtain missing or unclear data. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working with digital systems, databases, and Microsoft Office (Excel essential). Professional, reliable, and proactive in supporting the wider team.

Experience



Previous experience in administrative, technical clerk, document control, or project support role preferred. Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or a similar technical environment is beneficial.

Working Pattern & Hours



Minimum 38 hours per week, with overtime available (and expected). Can be worked either Monday-Friday (with at least half a shift on a Saturday or Sunday every other weekend), or on an 11/3 rotation in line with site operations.
