Technical & Commercial Co-Ordinator - Belfast



OQEMA are one of the leading chemical distribution companies for commodities and specialities within Europe and we are currently looking for a Technical & Commercial Co-Ordinator to join our team based in Belfast.

Working within the chemical distribution industry, we are looking for candidates who have high level of attention to detail and accuracy, along with previous experience within an administration role and a strong interest in chemistry. This role will involve direct interaction with customers on a daily basis, previous experience of this would be preferred.

The role will involve technical elements such as;



Assist with the development of new products with a commercial consideration to costs.

Test and provide detailed analysis on raw materials and manufactured products purchased for resale and/or for use in production

Ensure that raw materials and manufactured products conform to the specifications required and our customers specifications

Ensure analytical testing equipment is calibrated on a regular basis by external

Responsible for the treatment and testing of liquid effluent from the Production Water Deionising unit

Advise the company on any incidents and, where appropriate, prepare reports, including those on incidents or serious infringements recorded during the transport of Dangerous Goods

Actively promote the awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental factors within the Company and OQEMA Group of companies in line with ISO 9001 standards

Support and lead laboratory and process improvement initiatives

This role also comprises of the following commercial elements;



Prepare sales quotes for customers

Work with customers and the Sales and Finance team to agree and set terms of trade

Identify and develop new business opportunities and business development

Build, manage and convert the sales pipeline

Manage and develop my customer accounts, portfolio and market territories

Grow existing Customer spends, improve profitability, and develop the sales product portfolio

Manage and create strong, trusted relationships with customers to maintain, grow and improve profitability

Be responsible for meeting or exceeding my own individual budgets

Participate in regular departmental sales meetings

Working Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package. The position is required to be fulfilled immediately and is based at our offices in Belfast within our friendly team.
