Technical Compliance Officer

A brand-new role within the Althams Company - the role will be leading compliance of both Althams Fine Foods and Althams Butchers. The role will report into the Technical Manager of the Althams Group.

Althams Butchers is one of the oldest and largest independent family owned & run butchers in the country. We specialise in quality meat and meat products for wholesale, serving hotels, restaurants (including several Michelin Star establishments), pub chains, conferencing venues and catering companies UK wide. We operate a state of the art plant in Morecambe, Lancashire. Our Location on the edge of the Lake District, Lancashire and Yorkshire gives us access to some of the best cattle and lamb markets in the UK.

At Althams Fine Foods we create and produce award winning fresh and frozen bespoke meals. We work across various platforms from retailers, B2B, B2C and foodservice. Job spec

- Technical contact for retail customers at fine foods, answering queries and complaints in a timely manner.

- Help in specification writing.

- Manage the compliance, quality and food safety KPI reporting across both sites.

- Cover the specification technologist holidays.

- Work with the Technical Manager in customer onboarding new product launches when necessary.

- Complete GAP analysis on new customer codes of practices, regulations and legislation and 3rd party standards to ensure both sites are audit ready systems wise at all times.

- Internal audit and HACCP team member

- QMS Management of both sites.

- This job list is not exhaustive and other jobs may be required of the successful candidate as per the line managers instructions.

Experience

- Experience working closely with retailers.

- Finished Specification writing.

- Procedure reviewing and writing.

- GAP Analysis.

- Legislation and regulation knowledge desirable

- HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 desirable.

- Customer service skills.

- Product launch

- Minimum 2+ years' experience working within a similar role within food manufacturing.
