Overview:

Wood & Wood Signs Ltd. is one of the UK's leading signage manufacturers, with over 30 years of experience delivering bespoke signage and wayfinding solutions to clients across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Technical Department.

This role requires a technically skilled individual with proven experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment, capable of producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings, fabrication details, and design intent documents to support our production and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for bespoke signage and architectural elements. Translate design concepts and client briefs into fully engineered manufacturing drawings. Liaise closely with Project Managers, Designers, and Production Engineers to ensure technical feasibility and accuracy of all drawings. Prepare materials and component specifications, fabrication details, and assembly instructions. Contribute to design development and value engineering solutions to achieve cost-effective and practical outcomes. Support the preparation of drawing packs and documentation for client approval and internal manufacture. Maintain revision control and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date. Provide occasional on-site technical support for surveys or installations when required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a

technical design or drawing role

within a

manufacturing, engineering, or signage environment

. Proficiency in

2D CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent)

and

3D modelling software

(e.g., SolidWorks) Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials (including metals, acrylics, and composites), and fabrication methods. Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret architectural drawings and design intent. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Experience preparing technical documentation for production and installation teams.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

HNC/HND or Degree in

Mechanical Engineering

Product Design

,

Industrial Design

, or a related discipline. Experience in the

signage industry

or with

architectural metalwork

or

retail display manufacture

. Familiarity with CNC and laser cutting processes and file preparation.

Package:
