Technical Engineer/Retail Sales Associate

Scoota Mart are looking to recruit a technical engineer for the service and repair of mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs at our busy Ashton-under-Lyne store. The position will also involve retail sales when required and the day to day running of a busy retail store. Training will be provided in all these aspects.

Store opening hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm Saturday. The successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday and on occasion, Saturday to provide holiday cover.

A transit sized van is used to deliver and collect products so a full UK driving license and a confident approach to driving a van is mandatory.

Scoota Mart have 25+ years experience in the mobility retail sector and have been a long standing partner of the Motability scheme for many years. We currently have 10 stores across the North west of England providing mobility products to the whole of the UK, which we are looking to expand in the near future.

Duties:

- Assess and repair faults to mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs and various other mobility products
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide product information and recommendations to customers
- Efficiently and correctly order parts from suppliers
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Stock shelves and merchandise products as needed
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals

Skills:
- Full UK driving license and able to competently and with due care drive a transit sized van
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with customers
- Ability to process all incoming and outgoing paperwork
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash
- Phone etiquette for answering customer calls

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 47 per week
