Sponmech Safety Systems is a well-established manufacturer of Machinery Guarding and Acoustic Enclosure solutions, supplying high-quality, bespoke engineered systems to clients across the UK. We design, manufacture, and install solutions that enhance workplace safety, compliance, and noise reduction across a wide range of industrial environments.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Technical Estimator to join our team at our Halesowen facility to work alongside our Managing Director.

We offer our services UK-wide so the applicant will need to have a full UK driving licence and own vehicle to visit customer sites across the country.

The Role

As our Technical Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates based on technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements. You will work closely with sales, design, and production teams to ensure all quotations are technically accurate and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for machinery guarding and acoustic enclosure projects Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client documentation Analyse materials, manufacturing, and installation costs Liaise with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing Provide technical input and clarification to internal teams Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases
Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience in a Technical Estimator or similar role Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail Good communication and organisational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
Desirable

Experience within machinery guarding, acoustic enclosures, fabrication, or engineering manufacturing Relevant technical or engineering qualification Knowledge of UK machinery safety standards and regulations Understanding of PUWER Understanding of ISO standards
