Mallatite Limited is the specialist manufacturer of lighting & traffic support structures, passive products, traffic signs & equipment and L.E.D. message signs which sits within the roads division of Hill & Smith Holdings Plc.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a personable, sales-orientated, technically minded Estimator to join our small, in-house Sales team, which is based at our Chesterfield office, in Derbyshire (S42 5SA).

The Technical Estimator is a sales support role, leading efforts to turn customer enquiries, bids and quotations into sales, thus helping to achieve the company's sales targets and enhance business growth opportunities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Establishing customer requirements from items such as CAD drawings, Layout Schemes, Post Designs etc Preparing and submitting quotations in detail for the costs of items to be supplied Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors, authorities etc. Researching costs of materials, transport, Labour Preparing Scheme bids Using an interconnected company platform to produce quotations and sales orders Maximising sales opportunities from enquiries and following up with clients on previous quotations created Negotiating delivery timescales, including short turnarounds, and liaising with manufacturers and suppliers Managing bespoke design requests with the technical team to ensure these demands are met to the specified requirements Ensure all company and intercompany price lists are kept up to date including all documentation and systems Liaising with all parties involved once Sale is converted; i.e. Production team, Transport, Operations to ensure smooth process from idea conception, to production, to delivery is completed Getting quotes from third party suppliers Any other reasonable duties within your skills remit to support the operational duties of the department or company

QUALIFICATIONS;

1 year + Technical Estimator or Technical Sales experience, preferably with a manufacturing/engineering/estimating background is advantageous Experience using CAD, reading drawings and documents from CAD is preferred Familiarity with Sage or similar is advantageous Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively
