Technical Manager (Mechanical) to join our team at Manchester Joint Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Technical Manager (Mechanical) will play a vital role in EQUANS, working alongside an already established technical team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.
The post holder will ensure asset compliance with all statutory and company procedures across the stakeholder groups, ensuring effective maintenance strategy is in place for mechanical and pressure systems to maximise the lifecycle of the asset and reduce costs through a proactive approach and attitude.
Based at Manchester Joint Hospitals the Technical Manager(Mechanical) will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards on the contract. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing technical expertise in the Mechanical and Electrical systems, to ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. Ensure delivery by third parties meets the required contract standards.

They will be able to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with their team members and stakeholders. What will you deliver?
Management of a mechanical bias issues and also assist in the management of other disciplines as necessary
Investigate and manage all claims of defect or asset failure
To work with the relevant operational leads to ensure the service delivery across the full range of services is continually improving
To contribute to the financial performance of the contract particularly around operational efficiency and subcontract procurement
To ensure compliance with company procedures for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitor and review of the services by analysis of the relevant data
Ensure that assets planned maintenance tasks are completed, reactive works are effectively managed by third parties and the correct standard of maintenance is being delivered
Implement innovation for lifecycle strategies
Survey Assets where required and provide technical and conditional reports
Support the production of Lifecycle replacement plans providing scope of work, Risks, Budgets and initial timelines around delivery
Monitor Updates of record drawings and Operations and Maintenance manuals. Review and ensure parties are maintaining against the correct standards
Ensure parties are delivering compliance with statutory, NHS and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge at all times
It may be required to undertake AP duties alongside other AP's such as Pressure Systems, Medical Gases and Ventilation. Full training will be provided
Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors
Clear and effective communicator with professional personal presentation
Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met
Expected to work such hours as are necessary to fulfil the role
Carry out any other reasonable management request
Attend and represent EQUANS in Technical and NHS safety groups
Provide technical support to the wider team where required

Who are you?
Degree or equivalent experience in appropriate field
Experience of a technical management role
Stakeholder management and engagement skills
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office software
Experience in a similar role in a healthcare setting
Experience working with PFI Contracts
Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely
Health & Safety qualification (i.e. IOSH Managing Safely)
Experience with Building Services and experience in Mechanical and Electrical systems
Experienced in report writing and presentation
Strong customer focus with experience of delivering high standards of Customer Service, previous FM experience within a hospital and/or PFI environment would be an advantage
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
