Samsung Networks is an industry leader in Open RAN network deployments with commercial deployments in US, Asia and European markets. We are expanding our Service portfolio to include System Integration Services and as a result we will be creating a new team to lead these activities!
As part of our expansion in Europe, Samsung Networks UK is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated System Integration ORAN Technical Lead to coordinate the delivery of our System Integration Testing and Support packages for a Tier 1 customer in Europe. You will manage and lead all aspects of the delivery of our Technical obligations commencing in Q1 2025 and excel in the supporting all of our Technical commitments and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate a consistent record in Technical management of complex multi vendor IT and Core Telecommunications project and has extensive experience in creating and maintaining highly satisfied customers. This role is based in Reading but will require travel to other project and customer locations in the UK.
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
Specify the End to End System Integration Test deliverables for all of the ORAN vendors
Define the Test reporting criteria with each collaborator and create and maintain a customer dashboard for all Test process reporting and issue tracking items.
Ensure that the agree Test scope and specification testing reports have been provided by each ORAN vendor
Optimise the Test execution plans across each ORAN vendors labs to ensure the most optimal testing path is used.
Ensure that all Test defects are assembled and reported to the key stakeholders and proved an End to End resolution plan for such items
Guide vendors in fixing issues during root cause analysis activities
Present Test progress reports to senior stakeholders in the customers organisation
Create a final Test exit report and system deployment method of procedure documents to the customer.
In Life Operational Product defect support to the customers technical teams
Provide Troubleshooting coordination of complex product issues
Act as the main technical interface for the Samsung Global Service Centre for Problem ticket analysis.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Demonstrated ability in a Technical lead/management role in the telecom/IT sector
Consistent record in the delivery of complex large scale multi vendor System Integration technical projects
Previous experience of multi vendor network virtualising solutions such as Open RAN, virtualised RAN/Core.
Validated customer and partner management skills
Exceptional communicator both internally and towards the customer
Excellent organisational skills and an ability to anticipate customers needs and act accordingly
Excellent level of presentation, communication and planning skills.
Ability to prepare & deliver complex technical concepts to a high standard within tight timescales.
Fluent in spoken and written English
Excellent documentation writing skills
Exceptional ability to navigate large and complex organisations to build relationships and influencing capabilities
Superb communication and presentation skills
What does success look like?
You will have optimally led the ORAN System Integration testing phases and achieved the Test completion achievements on time, developing and agreed a solid Hardware and Software Test process with the customer and 3rd party ORAN vendors including the internal Samsung technical teams
Structured the Test governance and developed the means to communicate timeline alignment to ensure documentation is delivered on time as per the Project achievements
You will have supported all in life product problem case and ensured that all problems were resolved in a timely and transparent manner
The interview process
Following the screening of candidate CVs there will be a 2 stage recruitment process covering technical and suitability topics.
The technical interview will involve candidates demonstrating their in-depth knowledge and experience of delivering complex Telco and IT System projects. You will be assessed on your technical knowledge, organisational capability and customer focus. We will ask you to illustrate how your past roles and experience makes you a great fit for this role.
The suitability interview will involve a wider review at the candidates suitability and availability to accept the role if offered and their motivation to join Samsung. It will cover topics such as understanding of the role, flexibility to work at various project or customer locations and cultural fit into a small highly motived team.
