About the role





We are now seeking to recruit a Technical Officer to support our Assets & Investment team with the delivery of planned improvement works across our housing stock across in the north west. As Technical Officer you will be experienced in overseeing a range of housing improvement programmes focusing on essential modernisation of properties such as roofing, kitchens, bathrooms and upgrading insultation.


Key Responsibilities




Data Recording



Support the Capital Investment Team by ensuring that accurate and up to date records in connection with Capital work and in accordance with policies and procedures.


Contract Management



Ensure compliance with the contract specification preparing defect schedules for rectification and monitoring performance standards, minimising risk, monitoring progress, assist in the preparation of payment valuations and financial management of the project, reporting as appropriate.


Quality Control



Provide effective supervision to ensure consistently high quality standards through robust monitoring and supervision for each project, via site visits, assessing all aspects of quality control.


System Administration



Ensure effective administration of systems for the delivery of planned works, to ensure creation of work orders, payments etc. in delivering planned works.


Record Keeping



Maintain accurate records and data, operate and maintain information systems


Health and Safety



Ensure health and safety compliance with legislative requirements including CDM and associated legislation.


Support Internal and External Audits



Provide accurate, up to date and concise information for internal and external audits as and when required.



Skills and Experience





Essential:


Track record of managing investment programmes to a high level of quality and performance. Technically competent and demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, and leasehold legislation. Knowledge of construction contracts and their effective administration. Experience of managing onsite health and safety management and compliance to the requirements of CDM. Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience of managing contractors to meet defined objectives or targets. Full UK driving licence and access to your own car.

Desirable:


Previous experience of managing similar projects

Qualifications





Essential:


A HNC or equivalent pass in a building related discipline.

Desirable:


Professional qualification in a property/building related specialism MCIOB, MRICS, MICE etc
