Working Hours:

44 (4 days a week)

Day Shift: 06.00 to 18:00 Night Shift: 18:00 to 06.00 Mon to Thurs

Pay:

Day: 13.50 Night: 14.85 (Hourly rate will rise after training)

Holidays:

20 days plus Bank Holiday allowance

Overtime:

Over 44 hours worked, time and a half

Main Purpose

As a Technical Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production lines, achieving safety, quality, and performance targets. Working within a multi-skilled and flexible team, you will take ownership of machine operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement to deliver exceptional results.

Role Responsibilities

Operate and monitor production equipment to achieve efficiency and performance targets Perform first-line maintenance, preventative checks, and routine diagnostics to maintain plant reliability Manage and reconcile material usage, ensuring accurate reporting of waste and consumption Conduct quality and safety checks in line with site standards and complete necessary documentation. Perform product and equipment changeovers within set timelines to minimize downtime. Maintain a high level of hygiene and housekeeping in all operational areas. Support and train colleagues to achieve consistent operating standards across workstations Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and contribute ideas for enhancing performance.

Experience and Key Attributes

Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment is essential. Food Safety Level 2/HACCP Basic education (NVQ Level II or equivalent) or relevant technical qualification preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when required. Proven flexibility to work across multiple production areas and adapt to changing priorities. Demonstrates a proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Comfortable working with numerical data and business systems Shows motivation to develop skills, support others, and contribute to team and business success.
