Join our dynamic Large Loss Team as a Technical Personal Injury Claims Handler, where you'll manage a portfolio of complex and high value personal injury claims ranging from 100k to 250k and beyond. These cases include serious injuries such as brain trauma, chronic pain, fractures requiring surgery, and polytrauma, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact in people's lives.

What will I be doing?




As a

Technical Personal Injury Claims Handler

, you'll play a key role in managing complex motor claims with precision and professionalism. Your day today will include:


Assessing indemnity, liability, and quantum

on motor claims to ensure thorough investigations and cost effective outcomes Applying

strategic thinking and commercial awareness

to settle claims efficiently keeping lifecycles short and indemnity spend low Delivering

world-class customer service

, ensuring every customer is treated fairly and in line with industry and company standards

Proactively managing your caseload

, staying on top of correspondence and tasks within service level agreements (SLAs)

Negotiating settlements

on third-party claims with confidence and clarity Enhancing the customer experience by

identifying gaps in legal panel performance

and driving improvements Keeping your

technical knowledge sharp

, staying up to date with market trends and legal developments Building and maintaining

strong relationships with suppliers

to support smooth claim resolution Ensuring

reinsurer reportable claims

are accurately updated and communicated to senior management Supporting

departmental projects

focused on cost, service, and process efficiency Handling

referrals from the PI department

for all cases valued at

25k and above

, offering expert guidance and resolution

What do I need?




To thrive in this role, you'll ideally bring:


At least 5 years' experience handling complex personal injury claims (Claimant or Defendant) valued over 100k Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the confidence to negotiate effectively Strong time management and organisational abilities, with a sharp eye for detail The ability to assess evidence and make sound, commercially driven decisions A proven track record in managing multi-track bodily injury claims, including those involving liability disputes Solid knowledge of indemnity, liability, and quantum issues A comprehensive understanding of cradle-to-grave claims handling, covering: + Personal injury claims (MOJ, Scottish, and fast track) + Advanced liability
+ Credit hire
+ Fraud awareness
+ Principles of indemnity
+ RTA requirements and Article 75
