We are looking for a Technical Product Lead:



Mykor is seeking a Technical Product Lead to drive innovation and execution in the design, compliance, and market readiness of our pioneering mycelium-based construction systems. This role sits at the nexus of building science, prefabrication, and climate tech, and is critical to ensuring our products meet evolving regulatory standards while outperforming legacy systems in thermal, acoustic, and moisture performance.

You'll be responsible for translating R&D breakthroughs into field-ready systems, developing detailed installation guidance, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the UK and EU. This role demands deep understanding of condensation dynamics in natural materials, technical drawing expertise, and experience with prefab timber construction. You will guide internal teams, support key commercial partners, and help secure essential certifications that validate Mykor's market edge.

Ideal candidates are comfortable working at a startup pace, passionate about decarbonising the building environment, and fluent in both engineering rigor and real-world constructability. Hands-on construction experience, familiarity with WUFI modeling, and rendering skills (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) are a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:



Design product systems to comply with UK and EU building regulations and best practices. Create and maintain Mykor Installation Guides, including technical drawings and literature, ensuring regulatory compliance. Ensure correct product installation on demo projects as per Installation Guides. Coordinate with the marketing team on technical content for marketing and product collateral. Develop and implement strategies for obtaining necessary building/testing certifications. Provide occasional technical support to commercial partners and assist the CEO as needed. Represent Mykor at events such as trade shows. Monitor competitor products and systems to inform Mykor's product positioning. Report findings and activities to management, contributing to strategy development. Submit weekly activity reports via Slack and designated software platforms.

Key Candidate Requirements



Solid understanding of building condensation risks and natural material performance. Proven adaptability to a start-up environment; creative problem-solver under pressure. Excellent technical knowledge of acoustic and thermal insulation, prefab, and timber construction systems. Familiarity with relevant UK and EU building regulations and standards. Experience with construction products, systems, and their certification processes. Minimum degree or HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or science discipline. Strong business awareness and understanding of product-market fit. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with strong planning and organisational abilities.

Essential experience or qualifications:



Minimum 5 years experience in the sector in EU and/or UK Experience with natural bio-based fibre insulation Excellent understanding of moisture and heat transfer movement in buildings Competent with U value calculations Excellent technical drawing skills Experience across a range of building types and clients

Preferred experience or qualifications:



Qualification as an Architectural Technologist or Structural Engineer Interest in sustainable and/or natural construction materials, ideally mycelium-based. Thermal bridging risk analysis Architectural rendering skills: AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup Understanding of WUFI modelling
