Containment Technology Services specialise in the design, construction and commissioning of Laboratory Containment Systems for handling pharmaceutical drug compounds. Our products are unique and award winning. We are proud to base our operations, including manufacturing in Portsmouth. We successfully export our products to Pharmaceutical Research companies all over the world and are acknowledged by our customers as experts in our field. We are a growing SME with a 6.5 M turnover and around 40 staff and are looking to expand our operations by recruiting g a driven, commercially aware Technical Product Manager to join our team and help shape the future of our product and operational landscape.

The Role



This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, product development, and operations in a business that thrives on technical complexity and compliance. As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a central role in building resilience across our systems and embedding deep product knowledge throughout the organisation.

Depending on your experience, you may initially join as a Technical Specialist, with the opportunity to fast-track into the Product Manager role as you demonstrate capability and leadership. For the first few months in role you will learn all aspects of the product build rotating around the departments. Ultimately we want you to be able to grow into a senior position within the company.

Key Responsibilities



Serve as the subject matter expert for our laboratory containment systems, understanding both technical specifications and customer requirements. Learn and support the Ki-Discus system for testing microbiological safety cabinets. Embed product knowledge across the company, enabling teams to deliver with clarity and confidence. Support the development of a knowledge management system to ensure documentation, training, manuals and expertise are structured and accessible. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering design, manufacturing, sales, and Customer Delivery) to support the delivery of projects and enhance operational systems. Contribute to product development initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with customer needs. Bring commercial awareness to product decisions, helping balance technical excellence with market viability. Build strong relationships with customers, bringing gravitas, credibility, and empathy to complex discussions. Use technical insight to problem-solve.

About You

Essential qualities:



Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., pharma, medical devices, aerospace, defence, etc.) Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels Demonstrated ability to understand and simplify complex technical systems and processes Commercially aware with a keen understanding of customer drivers and market needs Ability to manage competing priorities and drive progress across multiple workstreams Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow Creative thinker with a structured mindset

Preferred but not essential:



Degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field Experience working with laboratory equipment or containment systems Familiarity with knowledge management or continuous improvement methodologies Previous exposure to product management or technical leadership

Pay: 35,000.00-45,000.00 per year
