Technical Project & Acquisitions Manager - Renewable Energy
Leap29 are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Technical Project & Acquisitions Manager to lead the development of our renewable energy (Solar & BESS) projects from acquisition through to pre-construction and project sale or construction start.
This role will bridge the technical, planning, legal, and commercial dimensions of project development, ensuring that each project moves seamlessly from Ready-to-Build (RTB) status to successful transaction or execution.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage acquisitions from a technical (grid/engineering), planning, and legal (property) perspective.
  • Oversee Project Development & Co-Development
  • Oversee due diligence for new site acquisitions and RTB projects, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Coordinate and manage pre-construction activities, ensuring all permits, technical studies, and grid connection requirements are in place.
  • Collaborate closely with legal, development, engineering, and commercial teams to structure and execute project transactions.
  • Act as the technical leader responsible for ensuring project quality and compliance with regulatory, environmental, and engineering standards.
  • Drive project handover from development to construction or sale, ensuring all required documentation and conditions are met.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including grid operators, planning authorities, landowners, and EPC partners.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making regarding portfolio growth and optimization.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in renewable energy, infrastructure development, or grid connection projects.
  • Strong understanding of grid/engineering requirements, planning processes, and property/legal frameworks for project development.
  • Proven track record in taking projects from RTB through to financial close, sale, or construction start.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Commercial mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
